How we got addicted to Geocaching

How We Found Our First Geocache

Welcome to our first blog and first post, enjoy following us on our wild geocaching adventure where we will explore the World around us, There is so much to see!

This year has been a great year for us. We filled the year with the most fun we could possibly have ever had. We did so many fun things but the one thing we loved the most would be learning how to Geocache. We never knew this amazing virtual game existed before stumbling across our first Geocache.

We took an annual trip to one of the local National Parks. We come here once each summer since our children have been born to experience the beautiful waterfalls. Being outdoors is something we enjoy most and want our kids to experience it too.

As we were coming close to the waterfall we started feeling the cooler air then the watery sound rushing down rocks came creeping into our ears. Not knowing the water levels and how big the waterfall will be is always exciting. It doesn't matter how many times you see the same waterfall the surroundings will always change,, that's one secret I love from Mother Nature, She has many , you will see :)

The hike to the waterfall was total 7km down and 7km back up. It was worth every step, the view was amazing. However coming back up the steep cliffs may have been a nightmare for someone afraid of heights, Yikes !

Now the story on how we found the "cache" that started it all for us. Since the first Geocache we have been hooked. This is such a fun hobby to get you outside exploring.

Every time we get to a waterfall my boyfriend's curious mind wants to get as close as we can to take a picture. This time the rocks were challenging to climb as he reached his hand into what he thought was a hole he felt something large. He grabbed the container out from the hole bringing it down so we can get a closer look.

This is what we found. At first we were  confused not to sure what we were looking at. After reading the message from the Cache owner we new it must of been something important. The note inside suggested we add our names to a logbook which we did, silly for us at the time not to sure why we were adding our names but hey we want to be like the others playing this Geocaching Game.

Once we arrived to an area that had mobile reception thanks for the world of technology. We checked out what this Famous Geocaching was. We already were huge on hiking and exploring that after reading what this was it frosted our cake and changed us from being a muggle to being a believer in the Geocaching world.
We look forward to all the other Geocaches we will get to find along the way and the people we will get to meet during our journey. This is truly a great experience.
Thank you Nathan for changing the way we hike and the way we see the world around us. We are forever thankful that we have found this Geocache and have a world ready to explore.

😄 HAPPY CACHING 😄
